Hud Mellencamp was born in a small town, he can breathe in a small town, have himself a ball in a small town…get charged with misdemeanor illegal consumption of an alcoholic beverage in a small town.

More from College Football

Duke walk-on Mellencamp, the twenty-year-old son of Springsteen-rip-off singer and Indiana icon John, got himself in trouble for underage drinking in Bloomington, Indiana reports the Indy Star. Mellencamp faces an initial hearing on September 25.

Last summer, Mellencamp was charged with felony battery in Raleigh, NC after a fight that left a man with facial fractures. Mellencamp’s younger brother Speck was also charged in the fight.

The kid’s name is Speck? Think he might have low self-esteem? What kind of idiot names their kid Speck?

Hud as mentioned is a walk-on at Duke, but has yet to play a single down. A history major at Duke, Mellencamp also is a two-time Golden Gloves champion in Indiana.

His father is a multi-platinum recording star who once went by the name John Cougar, but didn’t think that was folksy enough and went back to his real name of Mellencamp. His hits include Jack & Diane, Hurts So Good, Pink Houses, Small Town and other songs about rural life in Indiana. That suck.

Hud is his son by his third wife. The model, I think. Not Meg Ryan.
