It’s no secret that if the Yankees are to make a legitimate run at the postseason, they’ll need to seriously bolster their starting pitching rotation.

The Yankees lost four of their five Opening Day starters to injury – C.C. Sabathia (knee, out for the season), Ivan Nova (Tommy John, out for the season), Michael Pineda (shoulder, back in August), Masahiro Tanaka (partially torn UCL, TBD) – with right-hander Hiroki Kuroda (6-6, 3.88 ERA, 86 K) acting as the last man standing.

Despite the solid job done by pitchers Chase Whitley, David Phelps, Shane Greene and the newcomer Brandon McCarthy, the Yankees need at least one more legitimate arm in the rotation for them to actually be capable of even sniffing October baseball.

While the Yankees have some prospects that could be valuable to other teams, let’s take a look at who the Yankees could possibly go after before next Thursday’s trade deadline.
