Clint Trickett was named the starting quarterback at West Virginia this offseason, but don’t ask him to watch a football game with him if you’re a female.

I love watching football with girls, but then again I’m not Trickett who would rather die than watch a game with a person of the opposite sex.

Furthermore, his concept of literally and figuratively needs some work, so while he thinks they should stick to cooking and stay in the kitchen, maybe Trickett should stay in the library and read a book.

I hope Trickett is making an attempt at humor with this tweet, but can he be that naive to think that a starting quarterback for an FBS program and a person with 13, 300 followers on Twitter could make a joke like this and not face some backlash?

Mountaineers head coach Dana Holgersen spoke about Trickett and his knowledge on Tuesday at Big 12 Media Days:

“Not only does he possess the knowledge that it takes to be successful in the game of football, he understands the knowledge that needs to exist when it comes to our team,” said Holgorsen. “He’s been out there working with our guys all summer.”

“He’s healthy – he’s 100 percent. His arm strength is awesome and his body weight is good. The leadership aspect of it is something that we were missing (last season). We had a bunch of guys coming back that played a lot of football but there wasn’t any leadership that was present at the quarterback spot – at the skill spot.”

No word on if the leadership that Holgersen speaks of includes banishing all females to the kitchen when the men wanna watch football.
