The Minnesota Timberwolves have resigned themselves to the fact they will have to deal star power forward Kevin Love. They have a few excellent options. The Golden State Warriors have in hot pursuit but have refused to include Klay Thompson in any deal and he is the player they reportedly covet. The Cleveland Cavaliers could offer the last two number one picks, forward Anthony Bennett (2013) and swingman Andrew Wiggins (2014), which would seemingly be impossible for the Timberwolves to pass on. The Chicago Bulls have reportedly offered big man Taj Gibson and a pair of rookies, former Real Madrid forward Nikola Mirotić and former Creighton Blue Jays’ forward Doug McDermott and the Boston Celtics have remained very interested in acquiring Love.

However, the Timberwolves are in no rush to make a deal. According to Steve Kyler of Basketball Insiders, the Timberwolves have “no urgency” to trade Love.

"If you are looking for closure on the Minnesota Timberwolves and Kevin Love you better pull up a chair, because it’s going to be awhile. There is zero urgency on the part of the Minnesota Timberwolves to make a deal. That does not mean they won’t agree to something, but what’s coming out of the process is that while Wolves’ president Flip Saunders and company have their favorites in the various proposals being talked about, they are still playing the bidding game with prospective teams."

The Timberwolves have until the trade deadline to make a move so they can afford to hold out for the best deal.

Love averaged 26.1 points, 12.5 rebounds and 4.4 assists per game last season while shooting 45.7% from the field, 37.6% from three and 82.1% from the charity stripe.
