While Derrick Rose will be back on the hardwood for the Chicago Bulls this season, he’s going to be a different player. It’s human nature to be a bit tentative after suffering one significant injury, let alone two.

More from Chicago Bulls

This is something the former Memphis Tiger is well aware of and knows that he’s going to be adjusting to a new style of game because of it.

Speaking to CSN Chicago, Derrick Rose admitted that things will be unique this season and he’ll be a different player.

“I think you will see that next year. Just trying to keep people off my body. Using a lot of floaters, using a lot of pull-ups, stuff like that, so I won’t get touched as much,” Rose said. “I’m a totally different player. It comes with experience, just playing through your mistakes. Just playing in an NBA game, you’re going to learn. So I’m happy that I had people around me to give me advice, learn from people and I’m happy I have the I.Q. to actually learn.”

Derrick Rose went on to explain more of the type of moves he expects to use this season and how they’ll help him stay healthy, potentially moving away from the more reckless style of basketball he played prior to his injuries.

But despite that, Derrick Rose made it very clear that he’s still a highlight machine and the change in game won’t alter his jaw-dropping ability.

“If you’re right there and I’ve got a dunk, I don’t care,” he said. “My legs are healthy, so I’m not worried about injuring myself or anything. I’m just trying to do anything to win that game at that time.”

Rose seems extremely eager to get on the court as he practices with Team USA, recently suggesting that he was disappointed Carmelo Anthony decided to re-sign with the New York Knicks but thinks that Pau Gasol is the Chicago Bulls missing piece.
