Derrick Rose disappointed Carmelo Anthony didn’t sign with Chicago Bulls
By Bryan Rose
Although Carmelo Anthony visited the Dallas Mavericks, Houston Rockets and Los Angeles Lakers on his free agent tour, most knew that his final decision would likely come down to joining the Chicago Bulls or returning to the New York Knicks.

The Chicago Bulls had been lusting over the prospect of Carmelo Anthony in the Windy City for some time and it seemed as if they had a very legit shot to sign the All-Star forward, but alas Anthony returned to the Big Apple at the last moment.
Such a decision wasn’t only a disappointment for many Chicago Bulls fans, it was also disappointing for Derrick Rose.
“I mean, who wouldn’t be disappointed?’’ Derrick Rose stated Monday. “Of course. But at the same time, you can’t be mad at the decision he made. If you put yourself in that decision, that’s a hard decision. You got your family to think about. You got money to think about. Not to say you should think about money. But when you’re talking about millions and millions of dollars, you can’t just put that behind you. So I’m not mad with the decision that he made and I wish him nothing but the best.’’
For what it’s worth, Anthony has stated that his decision to return to the New York Knicks was not about money, though that’s a difficult prospect to buy considering the Chicago Bulls are far closer to a title than the New York Knicks.
It’s also completely possible that Anthony feared investing in the Bulls given the health concerns of Derrick Rose, though so far the former MVP is looking healthy during Team USA practice.
