Nobody knows how Andrew Wiggins will turn out as an NBA player, though there’s plenty of evidence to suggest that he’ll end up being a very good when all is said and done.

More from Cleveland Cavaliers

Of course, there’s always the risk of a player flopping no matter how talented they may look in college. Might that be the fear of the Cleveland Cavaliers, who according to Sam Amico would prefer to trade Andrew Wiggins over Dion Waiters?

Asked a question in his weekly chat as to who the Cleveland Cavaliers would prefer to keep between the two players in a trade scenario *cough* Kevin Love *cough*, Amico stated that Waiters would likely be the preference.

"Q: If the Cavs had their choice and only had to give up Wiggins or Waiters, who would it be? A: Depends on who you ask — owner or GM. My sense is Wiggins."

It’s certainly a bit of an add sentiment considering most would feel that Andrew Wiggins’ ceiling is far superior to that of Dion Waiters. Of course, we’ve already seen that Waiters can play in the NBA and be an effective guard so it may be the case of going with the ‘sure thing’ in this scenario.

Still, it wasn’t that long ago that Dion Waiters was allegedly on the trade block so it seems such a notion should be taken with a grain of salt or two. Of course, Wiggins likely wouldn’t even be a member of the Cleveland Cavaliers had Joel Embiid not hurt himself, so it’s not as if the Cavs thought Wiggins was the best player in the draft.
