The Indianapolis Colts lost Reggie Wayne last season to an ACL injury and the impact that loss had on the receiving corps and the offense was undeniably bad.

More from Indianapolis Colts

That’s why the Colts were rumored to be going after a big No. 1 receiver target in free agency, such as Eric Decker or someone else. While he’s not a ‘top’ free agent, the Colts did snag former New York Giants receiver Hakeem Nicks, which was a move that seemed to be a great win on all sides for everyone involved.

But it’s apparently been slow going for the Colts and Nicks so far in training camp as the team hasn’t been all that impressed with what Nicks is bringing. According to Colts beat writer Tom James, the Colts would like to see more out of Nicks as he prepares to earn a big contract during what could be his only season in Indianapolis.

Nicks was miffed in New York that Victor Cruz got a massive contract and he didn’t, something that made his injuries in the 2013 season even more painful for all those watching and knowing his was losing money.
That’s why Indy is a good for for Nicks, but his one-year deal has already gotten off to a mediocre start and its up to Nicks to change that so he finally does land that big deal he wants.
