Philip Rivers and his wife Tiffany are expecting their 10th child together this fall!

Philip Rivers continues to stay busy in his retirement from the NFL.

The former San Diego/Los Angeles Chargers and Indianapolis Colts quarterback is thoroughly enjoying the retired life in the last few years since he hung up the spikes. Rivers is one of the greatest players ever to never play in a Super Bowl. He will end up in the Pro Football Hall of Fame one day very soon. But before that happens, he and his wife Tiffany are expecting child No. 10!

Rivers revealed to AL.com that he and his wife will be expecting their third son together.

"“We are all fired up. Everyone was pulling for a boy. Even our girls wanted a boy.”"

While Rivers is certainly enjoying being a full-time dad, he continues to coach high school ball at St. Michael Catholic in Fairhope, Alabama. We always knew he would coach, but Rivers also has been identified as a future star color commentator on NFL Sundays, if he ever chooses to do that.

Yes, there are a lot of jokes to be made about the small army of small children The Riverses are building. However, Philip and Tiffany have been together since the 1990s as middle school sweethearts from Northern Alabama. For him to have had the hall-of-fame-worthy professional career and stellar collegiate career at NC State, Rivers needed a strong woman backing him up.

They may be in their early 40s with a 20-plus age gap between their oldest child and the one that is on the way, but why hate love? Maybe this third son on the way becomes every bit as good as his father was at football? With three boys of his own, I mean, they are going to play football like their dad did so well. Even their Uncle Stephen played his college ball at LSU and then Vanderbilt.

Overall, if The Riverses are excited, then we’re excited for them! Football may still have a huge role in his life, but I think he is thoroughly enjoying this latest wave of fatherhood in somewhat out of the spotlight. Being the face of the Chargers franchise for the better part of two decades can make things hard to hide. It may have been a middling team from a sleepy town, but the NFL is the NFL.

Congratulations to The Rivers Family for extending their party by one more full-fledged member.
