Friday night the NFL preseason continued on, and one of the earlier games that took place was between the Atlanta Falcons and the Miami Dolphins. And when all was said and done in this one, it was the Falcons, who finished dead last in the division last year, who edged out the Dolphins, 16-10.

More from Atlanta Falcons

To get things started in this one, both starting quarterbacks were stellar.

Dolphins QB, who a lot of people are looking for some good things from this season, was perfect in the only drive of the game that he played. In the opening drive of the game,, Tannehill went a perfect 6-for-6 with 62 yards and a touchdown pass. Immediately after that, coach Joe Philbin decided that he had seen enough.

Following that, though, Falcons signal caller Matt Ryan was just as stellar during his time on the field, also perfect at 7-for-7 on the night with 53 yards. Unlike Tannehill, though, he had no scoring strikes in this one. However, just that one drive gave a lot of optimism to the Falcons fans that were nervous after last season.

Otherwise, the most interesting performance of the night was turned in by Falcons rookie running back Devonta Freeman. The first-year back out of Florida State finished the night with 50 yards on 10 carries, showing that he has the ability to gradually pick up more and more of the workload as the season goes on.
