The Los Angeles metropolitan area—the second largest in the United States—has no National Football League team. In fact, L.A. has not had an NFL team since the 1994 season. Immediately after the 94′ season, the Los Angeles Rams moved from suburban Anaheim to St. Louis, Missouri, and the Los Angeles Raiders returned to Oakland, California.

The NFL and Commissioner Roger Goodell believe however, that the door remains open for pro football to return to a town that once housed both the Raiders and Rams.

"“It still comes back to, ‘Do we have the right solution in Los Angeles?’ And that comes back to a stadium,” Goodell said. “Do we have a stadium that we feel can be competitive with the high-quality stadiums? I just came from San Francisco, from a ribbon-cutting for a new stadium (in Santa Clara) and we’re excited about that and we’re investing billions of dollars in creating those kinds of stadiums.”"

It’s certainly no secret that the St. Louis Rams have been rumored to potentially be on the move, back to L.A. in 2015. After the 2014 season, the lease at the Edward Jones Dome converts to a year-to-year proposition, with the Rams free to leave after any season without penalty.  Coupled with owner Stan Kroenke’s recent purchase of 60 acres in the L.A. area, there has been plenty of speculation that the Rams will move.

With NFL relocation such a hot topic around the sports world as of late lets take a legitimate look at exactly how likely a Rams move really is.

To get even better insight on this situation I spoke with FanSided’s own Jason Gold, editor at L.A. Sports Hub. Jason was kind enough to shed some light on the Rams, Kroenke, Los Angeles — and the chances of a SoCal reunion.
