At a time when Kansas City Chiefs wide receiver Dwayne Bowe is saying he is in some of the best shape of his life, it appears that he may not be telling the entire truth.

While conditioning may not be an issue for the Chiefs wideout entering the 2014-15 regular season, it appears that a hand injury — specifically his finger — is something that could be holding Bowe back.

If that is true, it could be a reason why we have heard rumors that Bowe is struggling in camp.

Bowe has been dropping plenty of passes throughout camp and that has led to a report that his “finger is shot.”

Chiefs head coach Andy Reid explained the problem.

“Dwayne Bowe has been out here and his finger is shot,” Reid said, via the Kansas City Star. “It’s been thrown out of place about 15 times, so now he’s not catching the ball but he’s getting his work done. You can practice with that kind of thing.”

The Chiefs will be counting on Bowe to be a key figure in their passing game if they want to remain near the top of the AFC after surprising the NFL a year ago, so they need to do everything they can to make sure he is 100 percent healthy.
