The huge news coming out of the college football world on Monday night was the report that Ohio State senior quarterback Braxton Miller had re-injured his shoulder in practice on Monday, putting his season in serious jeopardy. Now while this is not the time to speculate on the severity of the injury, there could be a bit of good news regarding Miller’s Ohio State career not being over yet.

Given that the injury happened this early on prior to the season, there is a possibility that Miller could be granted a medical redshirt for the 2014 season, letting him return to Columbus for the 2015 season.

The Buckeyes open the season as the no. 5 team in the country, according to the preseason AP Poll that was just released this week. The hopes were very high for this team this season, with talk of a possible national title run.

However, for that to happen, Miller would have to be at full health, and that is certainly not the case anymore.

But while a national title might be out of the cards for this season, it could very well happen in 2015, should Miller choose to go the medical redshirt route.
