Report: Anonymous ACC coach believes half the league wouldn’t start for FSU
After years of domination by the SEC, there’s a new king of college football heading in to 2014 and that is the Florida State Seminoles out of the ACC. Dominating that conference was once an annual right of passage, but in recent seasons a few schools have come to challenge FSU.

Following a national championship season though, many ACC programs look far away in the rearview mirror of a program looking to reestablish its dominance on a national level.
The question is, just how much more dominant is Florida State over the rest of the conference it currently plays in? While doing their preview for FoxSports.com, Bruce Feldman and Stewart Mandel asked that question to ACC coaches.
According to their preview, at least one ACC coach believes that half of the league doesn’t have a single player that would start for the reigning national champions.
Here are the exact words from the preview:
"According to one ACC coach, FSU is so stocked with talent across its depth chart that he believes about half the league’s teams do not have one player who would start for Florida State this year based on what he’s seen on film."
It’s not as far-fetched a thought when you step back from the boldness of the statement itself. After all, the ACC is no longer a small conference as it expands to 14 teams (and Notre Dame as a member in everything but name) for the 2014 season.
That means seven teams wouldn’t have a player start for the Seminoles, and considering the fact that there are teams like Wake Forest, Syracuse and Boston College in the league its a much more likely event.
