While Eddie Lacy is set to be the Green Bay Packers starting running back, who will be behind the former Alabama star on the depth chart is currently unknown.

It was widely assumed that James Starks would be given the nod out of training camp thanks to his veteran status and solid play last season, however DuJuan Harris has impressed and could be awarded the backup running back job if he continues the solid play.

As of right now, it’s not known who has the lead though it’s clear that whatever gap was between the two, Harris has closed up during camp.

"DuJuan Harris made a bold statement Friday night against the Oakland Raiders, performing so well as a runner, receiver and blocker that it’s anyone guess if he or James Starks is the No. 2 back behind Eddie Lacy.“That’s a question that has yet to be determined,” said Sam Gash, the first-year running backs coach. “We’re still going through the process. The head coach has an idea what he’s going to do, but I’ll kind of leave that on him.”"

Harris has shown talent in the past to suggest he could be more gifted than Starks, however Starks is coming off a solid 2013 campaign and his hard hitting, pounding style of rushing could benefit the Green Bay Packers moving forward.

It’s also very possible that both DuJuan Harris and James Starks may simply alternate between series’ and the coaching staff will play whomever they feel gives them the best opportunity against the opposing defense. All that said, it’s a pretty nice problem to have.
