Brandon Spikes ‘happy to be’ with the Buffalo Bills
By Cory Buck
Brandon Spikes was one of the many casualties of the Patriot Way this past summer. While he took it hard at first, he has since landed on his feet with the Buffalo Bills, playing a prominent leadership role on a linebacker crew that desperately needs such a player.

“I love Buffalo, man,” Spikes told the Boston Globe. “It’s a different environment, a little bit out of my comfort zone, but hey, that’s life. You’ve got to adapt. And like I said, it’s great. The guys have treated me like a teammate since I signed my name on the paper, so it’s been fun.”
Spikes had an acrimonious end to his time in New England after the team placed him on the IR with a knee injury, reportedly because Spikes was late for a team meeting.
Despite their history, Spikes maintains he’s over it all and bears no ill will toward the Patriots. “I don’t want to keep harping on that,” he said. “It’s over and done. I’ve moved on, they’ve moved on, we just have to go our separate ways. I’m happy to be here, I’m fortunate.”
We’ll see how fortunate Spikes feels in Week 6 when the Bills host the Patriots in their first of two annual division games. The Bills have beaten the Patriots once since 2003 and even if there’s no bad blood, it’s hard to believe Brandon Spikes wouldn’t savor an upset victory.
