NASCAR at Atlanta results: Kasey Kahne wins Oral-B USA 500

On Sunday, NASCAR put on a show under the lights at Atlanta for the Oral-B USA 500.

More from NASCAR

When the checkered flag waved, it was Kasey Kahne who pulled off a fantastic win to punch his ticket to the Chase for the Cup with his first win of the season.

With just ten laps to go, Kasey Kahne was in the lead with Kevin Harvick breathing down his neck. As the race was closing in to the final laps, the leaders were coming up on some lap cars that would make things interesting down the final stretch of the race.

Kahne was doing a great job holding his position against Harvick, who was starting to fall behind.

As Kahne came up on the cars that were a lap down, he was passing them with ease while Harvick was having some difficulties.

The season was on the line for a number of the drivers who were looking to secure a top finish and the pressure was on with time dwindling down.

Martin Truex Jr. hit the wall with less than five laps to go and now things got more complicated for Kasey Kahne as we prepared for a two-lap shootout to finish off one of the final races before the Chase for the Cup begins.

Kahne had a poor pit stop and fell to fifth place, with Matt Kenseth winning the race off of pit road.

Unfortunately, on the restart Harvick hit the wall and drew another yellow flag after some contact with Joey Logano because of a poor restart from Paul Menard.

On the second attempt at a green-white-checkered finish, Kasey Kahne got a great restart and managed to get past Kenseth after a slight wiggle. It was a great turnaround for Kahne, who appeared to lose his shot at reaching the Chase after the poor pit stop on the earlier yellow flag.

Kenseth also earned his spot in the Chase on points.
