There’s no doubt Houston Rockets guard James Harden marches to the beat of his own drum.

More from Houston Rockets

Such a sentiment rings especially true when it comes to his extremely unique wardrobe choices. Only ‘bested’ by Russell Westbrook of the Oklahoma City Thunder (and that’s arguable), Harden routinely attempts to change up his look as he doesn’t want it to get boring.

His newest fashion statement seems to have jumped the shark though, especially for Houston Rockets teammate Dwight Howard.

Harden was pictured with the previously mentioned Russell Westbrook (who ironically enough looked completely normal in a t-shirt) wearing an outfit that looked extremely similar to what a pilgrim would have worn, sans the 1980’s inspired gold rope chain that would have made LL Cool J and RUN DMC envious.

Unable to contain himself, Dwight Howard posted the photo of Westbrook and James Harden on his Instagram account and couldn’t help but take a shot at his friend.

The picture in itself is funny enough, though Dwight Howard’s caption made it even more amusing considering he says James Harden’s outfit was so woefully bad it made him cry.

"omg. My g. I love you. But I cried when I saw this"

While giving fashion advice may not be my specialty, I have to say, Harden’s look is rather interesting and not in a good way. I can’t say I’m shocked given what he has worn before and it’s by no stretch his most outrageous outfit, though I’m going to agree with Dwight Howard on this one. It’s certainly worth a chuckle or two, but not nearly as embarrassing as James Harden’s defense.
