Miguel Cabrera was having some fun before the sixth inning of the Detroit Tigers vs. Kansas City Royals contest in Detroit Tuesday when he did his best Matthew Stafford impression from the dugout and threw a baseball up to NFL superstar and Detroit Lions wide receiver Calvin Johnson who was in attendance for the game.

The Detroit Tigers cleverly captioned the video on their Twitter account.

And the Detroit Lions Twitter account made fun of Johnon’s teammate, tight end Joseph Fauria who was sitting near Johnson at the game.

Johnson, also known as Megatron, had an impressive performance on Monday Night when Detroit hosted the New York Giants. Johnson caught seven passes for 164 yards and two touchdowns that both came in the first quarter of the game. Quarterback Matthew Stafford was on fire going 22-for-32 with 346 yards, 2 touchdowns and a rushing touchdown helping Detroit dominate New York 35-14 in their season opener.

Cabrera doesn’t quite have the form to battle Stafford for the QB1 position in Detroit, but may be able to dabble once his contract with the Tigers is up in 2020.

Cabrera is on a hot streak of his own as he was named last week’s Co-AL Player of the Week when he batted .500 and had eight runs, five homers and nine RBI’s on the week.

Cabrera and the Tigers are looking to close the gap completely in the AL Central as they try to beat the Kansas City Royals Tuesday night.
