If they haven’t already, it might be time for teams to send out memos to their players to be careful about what they say in response to questions about Adrian Peterson’s current troubles.

I don’t know if players know this but media people will try to trap them and make them look bad. Shocker!

Here’s a good example of what not to do/say when asked about Peterson and the question of child discipline. Reggie Bush, in an appearance on WFAN, talks about his own approach to disciplining his one-year-old daughter.

Bush says (via NESN):

"“I most definitely discipline my daughter,” he said on WFAN. “I have a 1-year-old daughter, and I discipline her,” he said. “I definitely will try to — will obviously not leave bruises or anything like that on her. But I definitely will discipline her harshly depending on what the situation is.”"

Bush’s comments:

Of course Reggie Bush doesn’t mean that he spanks his one-year-old, he’s talking about when the kid gets older.

What kind of monster spanks a one-year-old?

Like I said, they’re going to try and get you, so you gotta be smart. Lions PR might want to get hold of Reggie Bush and remind him.
