However, the Falcons and its head coach Mike Smith don’t seem too worried about the effect of the missed practice on White’s status for Thursday night’s game against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

From Vaughn McClure of ESPN.com:

"“It’s not important for Roddy to practice,” Smith said. “We’d like for Roddy to practice, but it’s all about getting Roddy ready on a short week. And some of these guys across the league that have some age with them, on a short week, you’ve got to get them to Thursday. And that’s our intention.“Right now, our goal is to have Roddy as healthy as he can be for the ball game on Thursday night.”"

White suffered the injury during Atlanta’s Week 2 loss to the Cincinnati Bengals.

Based on Smith’s comments, it would appear White’s on track to play in the game versus the 0-2 Bucs and Atlanta simply wants to be careful with White and make sure he is fresh for the game.

Given White’s strong start to the season, his presence is crucial for Atlanta. In two games, he’s caught 10 passes for 114 yards and one touchdown.

The Falcons drafted White with the No. 27 pick by the Falcons  in the 2005 NFL Draft. White has caught 695 passes for 9,550 yards and 56 touchdowns throughout his 10-year career.
