By Jack Crosby
When Larry Fitzgerald left the Pittsburgh Panthers football program, there were many that thought the school would never see the likes of him ever again. Well, that was until last year when they met true freshman Tyler Boyd, who is quickly becoming one of the more heralded wide receivers in the nation.

And on Saturday in the team’s home game against Iowa, Boyd, now a sophomore, tied Fitzgerald’s record for fastest to 100 career receptions in school history.
Boyd has steadily been the lifeblood of this offense, along with quarterback Chad Voytik and running back James Conner. So far in this early college football season, the Panthers have emerged as maybe the top contender in the ACC Coastal division, and that’s thanks in large part to the efforts of these three, especially Boyd.
So far on the afternoon, at time of this publishing, Boyd has four catches for 36 yards in the first half, although as we all know, he will more than likely end up breaking out in some form or fashion before the afternoon is all said and done.
Congratulations are definitely in order for Boyd once again.
