It seems as if Chicago Bulls backup power forward/center Taj Gibson just can’t catch a break. After rumored to be on the trade block for the past two seasons, it was thought Gibson would finally get off the pine and enter the starting lineup.

More from Chicago Bulls

Of course, that was before the Chicago Bulls decided to sign Pau Gasol who has pushed Gibson back to the bench. For what it’s worth, the talented big man says he’s fine coming off the bench for the Chicago Bulls, though, that’s likely his attempt to play the good teammate role.

Granted, the Chicago Bulls aren’t going to have Pau Gasol for very long given his age, so there’s understandable reason as to why he should not be traded. Still, it seems more and more pundits believe Taj Gibson will be on the block come the trade deadline, including Basketball Insiders‘ Jabari Davis.

"For what it’s worth, I could see a scenario where each of those guys you mentioned (Taj Gibson, Wilson Chandler) could be on the move at some point before the trade deadline this upcoming season."

Talented, young big men aren’t made available via trade very often, especially those signed to team friendly contracts like Taj Gibson. Given that, if the Chicago Bulls are to place their bench big on the block, they’d be able to ask a pretty penny in return.
