Postseason baseball is here, and so is the drama that baseball fans spend the entire regular season waiting for. In the first game of the playoffs, we are set to watch the Oakland Athletics travel to The K and take on the Kansas City Royals. The Royals are making their first playoff appearance since winning the World Series in 1985, and the Athletics are looking to ride an assembled-for-the-playoffs starting rotation.

Here is how MLB 14 The Show sees things playing out tonight:

Oakland Athletics (3) Kansas City Royals (1)

Jon Lester 7 IP 8 K 1 ER 3 hits
James Shields 5 IP 6 K 3 ER 5 hitsJosh Donaldson 1-4 HR 2 RBI
Brandon Moss 2-4 2B RBI

With the Athletics going after pitching, and having to give up Yoenis Cespedes to do so, this scenario is the best possible outcome for Billy Beane and Oakland. Advancing through to a matchup with the Los Angeles Angels, the Athletics will have to continue to dominate pitching while the bats work to come back to life.

Kansas City struggled at home in a big series with the Detroit Tigers just over a week ago, and it looks as if the same bright lights may haunt them tonight.

First pitch is scheduled for 8:00pm EST, make sure to tune in and check out if MLB 14 The Show got it right.
