While you’ve probably been told never to kick somebody when they’re down, that’s not an adage that Philadelphia Eagles running back Darren Sproles abides by – at least not when it comes to his former team the New Orleans Saints.

More from New Orleans Saints

Sproles, who was traded to the Philadelphia Eagles during the past offseason has had a wonderful start in the City of Brotherly Love though isn’t exactly the most sentimental when it comes to the New Orleans Saints. In fact, Sproles says he was disrespected by his former franchise and took a shot at them on Thursday afternoon.

“I felt disrespected there,’’ Sproles said. “Listen I understand this is business and all of that, but (when they talked about trading him) they put it up on Twitter. That’s how I found out. There was a screen shot and a friend of mine texted it to me. I felt they did me wrong.”

It appears as if Darren Sproles’ biggest issue was the fact that New Orleans Saints head coach Sean Payton informed the running back that he would be released only to trade him hours later.

The running back wasn’t done talking about the Saints though as he expressed some glee in their poor record and suggested that he was happy to be with the Philadelphia Eagles who currently sit at 3-1.

In case you were wondering, Sproles and his Eagles do not play the Saints at any point this season so no need for popcorn unfortunately.
