Fantasy Football Week 7 waiver wire pickups: Top 5 D/ST’s

facebooktwitterreddit

This week the streaming defense pool is a little bit shallower this week with several of the worst offense facing defenses that are already owned in most leagues.  There are still some options, though, if you’ve been streaming defenses all year and are looking to make a D/ST waiver wire pickup for week 7.

More from Buffalo Bills

For the sake of all our waiver wire posts, all the defenses listed are owned in less than 50% of ESPN leagues. If you have a specific question about a D/ST matchup that isn’t covered there, ask away at @FansidedFantasy on twitter. We’ll do our best to get you a prompt response to help you get your roster set in time for kickoff on Thursday night.

All scoring references are based on ESPN standard scoring to give us a common base to work from. Here are the top five widely available streaming defense options for week 7:

player. 53. The Browns take on the Jaguars this week in Jacksonville which is why they sit atop this list.  Jacksonville has had multiple turnovers in every game but one this season and has allowed three return touchdowns already this season.  They have yet to allow fewer than 10 points to the opposing defense, so make the Browns your top addition is you need a one week addition even though they don’t usually generate a ton of turnovers.. 4.8% owned. Week 7 @ Jaguars. Cleveland Browns. 1

Buffalo Bills. 2. player. 16. While they aren’t quite as friendly of a matchup as the Jaguars, the Vikings have allowed the third-most fantasy points to opposing defenses including 20+ points in each of their last two games. Buffalo’s D was embarrassed by the Patriots last week, so look for them to be out for a bounceback week against rookie Teddy Bridgewater and Minnesota. Buffalo is the #6 defense even after their -2 last week.  . 12.9% owned. Week 7 vs Vikings

35. The Titans feasted on the Jaguars last week and now travel to Washington to take on Kirk Cousins.  Cousins threw three interceptions last week in Arizona and the team has ten turnovers in their last three games.  Washingtin has allowed the sixth-most fantasy points to opposing D’s making the Titans worth a look if the Browns and Bills have already been scooped up.. 24.6% owned. Week 7 @ Redskins. Tennessee Titans. 3. player

player. 10. The Steelers offense was a mess on Sunday against the Browns scoring only one touchdown which came in garbage time.  They haven’t turned the ball over a ton, but they have allowed decent games to both the Bucs and Jags defenses.  Houston’s D is much better than both those units, so they should have a good game in Pittsburgh. Plus, you get to cheer for the beast that is J.J. Watt which is always a plus.. 41.9% owned. Week 7 @ Steelers. Houston Texans. 4

player. 60. If you can’t get the Bills D, the other side of the same game also has some nice upside. Buffalo allows the seventh-most fanatsy points to opposing defenses and has given up double-digit fantasy days in their last four games including six turnovers in their last three games.  The Vikings D has been playing well but they’re limited by the bad positions that their offense continues to put them in.. 2.2% owned. Week 7 @ Bills. Minnesota Vikings. 5
