Denver Broncos quarterback Peyton Manning set the record for career touchdown passes in the NFL, passing Brett Favre for the top spot. The record-breaking touchdown pass was to wide receiver Demariyus Thomas at the pylon, and afterwards Manning went to try and collect the football as a keepsake.
The only problem is Thomas wouldn’t give it to him, tossing it around with other wide receivers Emmanuel Sanders and Wes Welker in a schoolyard game of keep away. It was a rather funny moment in the game that led many people to chime in with their opinions on the matter, like Manning choosing not to throw touchdown passes in the red zone to the guilty parties in the next game.
Well, it looks like that won’t be necessary because it was all one big gimmick. Thomas, who caught the pass, said that it was all planned and even practiced. Because OF COURSE Peyton Manning made his wide receivers practice this routine, he couldn’t just live with himself had they not practiced playing keep-away before the game.
