It is not a good time to be one of the

NFL

‘s elite receivers.

Detroit Lions‘ star Calvin Johnson has missed each of the last two games and he is listed as a game-time decision for the Lions’ showdown with the Atlanta Falcons at Wembley Stadium Sunday morning (9:30 am EST).

A.J. Green of the Cincinnati Bengals has also missed each of the Bengals’ last two games and may make it a third this weekend.

According to Paul Dehner Jr. of the Cincinnati Inquirer, A.J. Green again missed practice on Friday and his status for Sunday’s game against the Baltimore Ravens.

When head coach Marvin Lewis was asked about A.J. Green’s availability, he said “we’ll see” and Dehner reports Lewis “sounded open to breaking his “no-practice, no-play” tradition.” The team’s goal is to make sure A.J. Green’s toe doesn’t bother him like this all season but that the Bengals can get as much as they can out of A.J. Green this season.

This is the third straight practice A.J. Green has missed but he believes he could still play but won’t commit to anything.

“Up in the air,” A.J. Green told Geoff Hobson of Bengals.com.

In his absence, the Bengals have gone 0-1-1. They tied the Carolina Panthers 37-37 on Oct. 12, then were absolutely dominated by the Indianapolis Colts in a 27-0 loss Sunday. The Bengals are now 3-2-1 after a 3-0 start and Sunday’s game showed just how badly they miss A.J. Green.

Before he was sidelined, A.J. Green had 17 receptions for 314 yards and two touchdowns. That includes a game-winning 77-yard touchdown catch in the Bengals’ 23-16 season-opening win over the Ravens.
