LeBron James Says Steve Nash Should be Proud Of NBA Career
By Ed Carroll
Los Angeles Lakers point guard Steve Nash will miss the 2014-2015 NBA season with nerve damage in his back, and Cleveland Cavaliers star LeBron James said Nash should be more than proud of his career, if it’s indeed over.
Steve Nash’s 2014-2015 season was over before it began, and though it’s unclear if Nash’s career is indeed over, many NBA players have voiced their sympathy for Nash’s injury, and their respect for the point guard’s terrific career. Cavs superstar LeBron James joined the chorus, and said that it “sucks” for Nash to have to go out on an injury.

“Over his career, he’s always kept his body in shape,” James said of Nash. “We all knew that, and for his body to fail him at a time where he feels he still has something to give to the game, it sucks. At the same time, he has nothing to be ashamed of. He should be proud of every moment he had in this league.”
James added that he wished he had been a teammate of Nash’s “for a year or two,” and that he can respect a player such as Nash who was “all about the team.”
Nash was a back-to-back MVP winner with the Phoenix Suns in 2005 and 2006, a run James said was “unbelievable.”
