After meeting for the first time in history to rank the top four college football teams on Monday, College Football Playoff chairman Jeff Long addressed the media.

Monday was a landmark day in the game of college football in that it marked the first time in history that a College Football Playoff committee sat down and tried to iron out just who the top four teams in the game after nine weeks are, as well as who is right on the outside looking in.

After the 12-person committee was done with their first ever session with ironing out the College Football Playoff, chairman Jeff Long addressed the media and he noted that he believes that fans will be pleased with the results in the end.

Under the new format this year, the top four teams in college football at the end of the season will meet each other, with the Sugar and Rose Bowls being the sites for the semifinals this season and the championship game with the winners taking place inside AT&T Stadium in Dallas.

The sites will work on a rotating basis.

Nonetheless, Long is really doing out on a limb by predicting that the fans will be pleased with the results, seeing how crazy this season has already been. But on Tuesday when the first rankings are released, we’ll see if they’re at least on the path of pleasing the college football universe; a task which is virtually impossible to begin with.
