Destiny Brings Exclusive Sparrow Today

Bungie is giving an exclusive Sparrow to gamers that preordered Destiny’s Expansion Pass.

Destiny has continued to receive updates throughout the week and the game has continued to be tweaked with the latest Iron Banner event going live today. However, the next biggest bit of news is the first expansion coming to Destiny in December. Those that purchased the Destiny Expansion Pass are now being rewarded.

Much like any other season pass, Bungie offered an incentive to purchase the Expansion Pass up front. With an exclusive Sparrow, Guardians will be able to cruise around Destiny in style. Bungie made sure to tease the new toy earlier last week, but now gamers can officially use their new vehicle.

Dubbed the Tumbler, the new Sparrow has a very Transformers look to it and shows off a blue color scheme with orange flames flanking both sides of it. It also features a durability rating of 100.

With an increased speed capability as well, the Tumbler gets its name from being able to perform rolls midair. Simply holding R2 or the right trigger and using the left thumbstick will cause the Sparrow to show of its slick maneuvers.

Although there is really little the Sparrow provides in the Destiny experience, give it to Bungie for awarding gamers with something for being early adopters, without giving them a competitive advantage. Obviously with plenty of people having preorded the Expansion Pass, you can now expect to be flooded with other Guardians in your strike playlists that will be riding the Tumbler.

Here’s to hoping that the first expansion lives up to the idea that it will continue to make Destiny a game you don’t want to removed from your rotation any time soon. I’m also still holding out for matchmaking to make its way to raids, but that’s another story.
