Russell Westbrook of the Oklahoma City Thunder absolutely posterized the Detroit Pistons with a ferocious dunk.

When you think of Russell Westbrook, you tend to picture a over-dribbling, sometimes ball-hogging point guard with impressive athletic ability.

You probably don’t think of him as one of the premier dunkers in the NBA, but on Sunday afternoon that’s exactly what the Oklahoma City Thunder star was as he unloaded a crippling dunk against the Detroit Pistons.

With OKC nursing a six-point lead mid-way through the fourth quarter, Westbrook grabbed a rebound on the defensive end of the court and brought the ball up on a mini fastbreak. He had Thunder teammates on each wing but in typical Russell Westbrook form, the former UCLA point guard decided to take it himself.

The end result was nothing short of beautiful as Westbrook elevated from inside the key and threw down a devastating dunk which even had the Detroit Pistons fans in awe.

Seriously, that was just disgusting. The power and grace behind that dunk was something that would have rivaled a throw down from Shawn Kemp.

As if that wasn’t impressive enough, Westbrook unloaded on big man Andre Drummond, who isn’t exactly a pushover at the rim.

Yes, there are times (plenty of them, actually) where Russell Westbrook becomes rather irritating with his inability to see open teammates, but when the end result is as stunning as this dunk, it’s hard to give him much grief.
