A young Cleveland Browns fan wrote on his third grade school work that he loves the team’s quarterback, Brian Hoyer ‘even if he is bad’.

When you grow up as a Cleveland Browns fan, you need to lay down a few rules and run with them. One, naturally, you love the Cleveland Browns. Two, you hate the Pittsburgh Steelers. Three, you love your quarterback even if he’s bad. If that’s all you need, then sign this kid up as a devout Browns fan for life because he gets it.

There are some fully grown NFL fans who don’t understand those simple rules. This is some surprising insight from a kid who understands that a quarterback can’t always be good, but that doesn’t mean we turn our back on him, at least until that first round rookie waiting in the fold starts in his place.

That will be the moment when this kid comes full circle. When he embraces Johnny Manziel and drops Brian Hoyer, he’ll know that he’s in the club, ready to be a Browns fan for life, even if Johnny Manziel ends up being bad, too.

Stay patient, kid. You probably have a lot of quarterback-related disappointment ahead in your lifetime, but at least you’ve got the attitude for it.
