Tom Brady’s Terrific Brain Key To His Success
In a recent in depth article, New England Patriots QB Tom Brady discussed his unbelievably healthy lifestyle.
Gosh darnit Tom Brady, why are you so perfect? With the perfect blend of poise and “aw shucks” demeanor, Brady has been making the NFL his crock pot of success for 15 years now.

How, you might ask, does he stay this sharp for so long? What could be the cause of such longevity? For Tom, it all starts with a good night’s sleep. Specifically, it means a litany of brain exercises, going to bed around 9 PM, and waking up without the assistance of an alarm. This has been something we here at Fansided have touched upon before. However, in the past, the focus was not on Tom “the perfectionist.” It was on Tom “the football nerd.” And while that second moniker might very well hold true, it does not make the first any less viable.
“The body is a whole system and that includes the brain. I’m lucky I haven’t had many concussions; maybe one I can remember. I’m training for if that happens. I’m building resiliency and staying sharp. I feel like that’s really where my edge is,” the former 2 time MVP and 3 time Super Bowl champ told SI’s Greg Bishop.
Brady’s dedication to the game has been quite a hot topic in the last few weeks, which is perfectly reasonable. Many were doubting the guy’s future after a lackluster 2-2 start for the Pats. However, the team has come roaring back, and might be playing the scariest football in the league (save for Green Bay). In a recent interview with local Boston station WEEI, Brady had the following to say.
"“I do go to bed very early because I’m up very early. I think that the decisions that I make always center around performance enhancement, if that makes sense. So whether that’s what I eat or what decisions I make or whether I drink or don’t drink, it’s always football-centric. I want to be the best I can be every day. I want to be the best I can be every week. I want to be the best I can be for my teammates. I love the game and I want to do it for a long time. But I also know that if I want to do it for a long time, I have to do things differently than the way guys have always done it.”"
Well, whatever he is doing this season clearly validates his logic there. A 30-7 touchdown to interception ratio, 100+ passer rating, and the AFC’s number one seed all but solidifies it for now. A third MVP could provide for some icing on that cake.
