CM Punk: I’d Fight Anderson Silva If Paid Correct Amount Of Money
By Josh Sanchez
Phil “CM Punk” Brooks is approaching mixed martial arts with the right mindset, even saying he’d fight the legend Anderson Silva for the right amount of cash.
There are a number of MMA fans and fighters that are unhappy with the UFC’s signing of Phil “CM Punk” Brooks, but that hasn’t stopped the former WWE star from approaching the sport with the right attitude.

Brooks says that he will focus on training for the next few months before an eventual debut in 2015, but despite his lack of experience he is willing to step into the Octagon against anyone placed in front him.
But is Brooks silly enough to believe he could actually beat a world-class MMA fighter with such little experience? Well, he would at least try.
During a recent interview with OTR’s Michael Landsberg, Brooks said he would fight former pound-for-pound king Anderson Silva as long as the money was right.
“Who I fight isn’t 100 percent up to me. I don’t think it’s 100 percent up to any fighter. That’s what the Joe Silva’s of the world are for,” Brooks said as transcribed by David St. Martin for MMAFighting.com.
“Would I fight Nate Diaz? This is where he takes it out of context. Yeah, I would fight anybody given the proper time to prepare for it. Would that be a wise decision at this juncture in my career? Probably not. But I would also fight Anderson Silva tomorrow if you paid me the correct amount of money to do so.”
To be fair, the qualifier from CM Punk pretty much ensures he would never actually take that fight.
Hell, for the right amount of money, you could convince me to step into the cage with Anderson Silva and we all know how that one would end.
