There is no denying the NBA Slam Dunk Competition has lost some of its appeal, but we could see young star Andrew Wiggins in the contest on All-Star Weekend.

We have seen Andrew Wiggins in a Slam Dunk Competition a couple of years ago, when he blew away everyone with a reverse 360 jam. Now, he could be bringing his explosive dunking ability to the stagnant NBA Dunk Contest.

According to the latest buzz, Andrew Wiggins will liven up the 2015 NBA Slam Dunk Competition during All-Star Weekend Feb. 14 at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn, New York — though the rumor said Madison Square Garden (which is playing host to the celebrity game).

If Wiggins is in the dunk contest field, there will be plenty of anticipation when he steps onto the court.

Of course, none of that will matter if the NBA is planning to stick with the ridiculous new format that left everyone scratching their heads a year ago. The general consensus was that the new format was terrible, so let’s hope they just allow the athletes to set the tone this time around.
