Buffalo Bills rookie wide receiver Sammy Watkins said that newly hired head coach Rex Ryan will bring “swag” to the team.

The Buffalo Bills went out and hired former New York Jets head coach Rex Ryan as their new head coach, and are looking forward to seeing what he can bring to the table for them next year.

Ryan has been known for his defensive prowess, but has also been known for being a very loud and animated coach. Buffalo hasn’t had a guy that has brought excitement to the sidelines, but they have that now.

Rookie wide receiver Sammy Watkins seems to believe that Ryan will be a big addition, and he is excited to play under him. He talked about what he expects Ryan to bring to the Bills, and how excited he is to get things started.

“You gotta be excited about Rex,” Watkins said. “You’ve seen him lead the Jets to AFC Championships and win games, beat the Patriots. You gotta be excited for him to bring his whole staff down. They can probably bring the same swag they had at the Jets.”

There is no question that Buffalo is going to love the “swag” that Watkins referred to about Ryan. He has the attitude that his team can beat anyone and everyone, and that will be contagious to the hungry Bills’ roster. That is what made him the perfect hire, and that is why the Bills are going to be successful under him.

At this point in time, there aren’t any major flaws on the Bills’ roster. They could use some help at the quarterback position after veteran Kyle Orton decided to retire and spend more time with his family. E.J. Manuel isn’t a terrible starting quarterback option, but the Bills will likely turn to the free agent market or draft to find their new number one guy.

One free agent that would make a lot of sense with Ryan being the new head coach is Mark Sanchez, who helped take the Jets to two AFC Championship games.

All of that being said, seeing Watkins excited about the hire is a good sign for the Bills. Doug Marrone was well liked in the locker room, and the Bills need to bring in a guy that the team could rally around and start something new. Ryan appears to be the perfect fit, and the team is already getting excited about the history and style that he is bringing to Buffalo.
