Vic Beasley expected to meet with Atlanta Falcons on Monday
By Ernie Padaon
The Atlanta Falcons will bring in top prospect Vic Beasley in for a team visit on Monday.
The Atlanta Falcons are looking for impact players to add onto their defense. They need players that will be able to get after the quarterbacks and to force the action on the field. They have been looking for impact players in that department for the last few seasons and had not found those players yet. They could look toward the NFL Draft this season in order to find that talent.

One of the top prospects in the NFL Draft this season who can provide that type of impact for the Falcons in Clemson’s Vic Beasley. Beasley expressed his interest in playing with the Falcons in the past and said that it would be a dream come true to play for the Falcons. He could get an opportunity to see that dream become a reality. He will be meeting with the Falcons on Monday and will get his chance to impress that staff, per Vaughn McClure.
Beasley recorded a school record 33 sacks in his 4 seasons with Clemson and will be looking to bring pressure in the NFL. He was impressive during the NFL Combine and many experts believe that he will make an immediate impact on the field for whatever team that decides to add him onto their roster. He would be a nice fit in Atlanta.
The Falcons have added Brooks Reed, O’Brien Schofield and Adrian Clayborn this offseason already to help build a defensive base, but the addition of a player like Beasley could give the team the impact that it has been looking for. Beasly would bring in that defensive pressure off of the edge and it would allow the other players to move around on the field a little more freely.
The Falcons gave up 6,372 total yards last season to rank last in all of the league. They also gave up 26.1 points per game to rank in at 27th in the league. They were tied for 30th in the league with 22 sacks during the season, while 7 other teams had at least doubled their sack total. The defense needs some help.
The Atlanta Falcons select 8th at the end of April in the NFL Draft. There will be a number of teams that will be interested in bringing Beasley onto their roster and there will be 7 chances for teams to take him before the Falcons select. Teams could look to move in front of the Falcons in order to take Beasley if they like. Will Beasley last till the 8th selection in the draft?
