More from Houston Texans

A time comes in most men’s lives when he realizes that, no matter how hard he tries, he will not become an athlete. That time often comes while watching box jump videos.

The Houston Texans J.J. Watt and the Philadelphia Eagles Connor Barwin, on the other hand, are athletes. And boy oh boy, they are dying to let you know.

Just check out the video below, and you’ll begin to understand what specimens these gentleman are. Try not to feel bad about yourself in the process — and try not to re-create any of what they’re doing.

Watt even moved out to a cabin in the middle of nowhere to train (probably preparing to fight Russians). Of course the cabin ended up being a furnished man cave, but the point was to show the young people that it only takes commitment and a 6’5″ frame to make it to the top in the NFL.

Now the tow are competing in the arena of box jumping.

J.J. Watt posted this video before he was selected in the first round by the Texans, showing him landing a 55 (and a half, thanks J.J.) inch box jump and yelping like a wounded dog.

A mere four years later, Connor Barwin challenged Watt with his own box jump, this time at 57 inches.

Barwin may need to stay on that box for longer than a half second for that one to count, but that is still an incredible box jump. It’s too bad that Watt had already topped it almost two years ago.

I will be hearing “watch out” in my nightmares for the next week.
