Minnesota Timberwolves point guard Ricky Rubio had successful surgery on his left ankle on Saturday and he now appears well rested and excited.

Ricky Rubio only played 22 games with the Minnesota Timberwolves this season after a nagging left ankle injury kept him constantly sidelined and on Saturday he underwent surgery to repair it.

The surgery was successful and the Spanish point guard also appears very well rested in this Instagram post he made on Tuesday.

Rubio is staying positive and clearly has plenty of energy, as he said, after he got plenty of post-surgery rest. The video was a lip dub of Robin Williams’ famous “Good Morning Vietnam!” line from his 1987 popular film, and Rubio executed it masterfully.

Rubio isn’t the only athlete to recently post a great lip dub from a famous movie. Detroit Tigers pitcher Justin Verlander and girlfriend Kate Upton posted this gem from Step Brothers two weeks ago.

It’s good to see that Rubio is all well and excited to make his full recovery and hopefully return for the start of the 2015 season with Minnesota where he will begin a new four year $55 million contract that he extended last October.

Rubio hasn’t played since March 18 and since then, rookie guard Zach LaVine has been great during Rubio’s absence, averaging 19.6 points, 5 assists during that time. LaVine likely played his way in the starting lineup next season along with Rubio, Andrew Wiggins and Gorgui Deng/Nikola Pekovic.

The T’Wolves are about to finish the season with the worst record in the Western Conference and are projected to get the second overall pick in the upcoming NBA Draft Lottery. They’ll look to continue to build on the young talent they already have likely with Jahlil Okafor or Karl-Anthony Towns if the lottery works to their favor.
