The Ohio State football team posts numerous photos of its new National Championship rings on social media.

Even now, four months later, it’s hard to believe that Ohio State captured the 2014 NCAA football championship. Now that the rings have been released, we can be sure that it really happened.

The Ohio State football team, led by head coach Urban Meyer, received their championship rings on Friday, which various members of the team proceeded to show off on social media.

Coach Zach Smith posted a few up-close photos of the rings, which have each member of the organization’s name on one side and the final score of the National Championship game on the other.

Then the players got creative and started taking pictures with the trophy.

We have to wonder who gave them the key to the trophy case, though. Presumably it’s kept under close surveillance. Meanwhile, another player made a video worthy of an Oscar nomination, if the Academy were made up of strictly Ohio residents.

And finally, it just got adorable.

Woody Hayes would be proud. Though he’d also be entirely confused by the concept of social media.

And yes, that’s rings, as in plural. Reportedly, the Ohio State players will receive three championship rings in total. And Urban Meyer is running out of fingers for them, a problem we like to call “The Phil Jackson Conundrum.”

The Big Ten, which with the exception of Wisconsin was unusually weak last year, will be less of a cake walk in the 2015 season. First year Michigan coach Jim Harbaugh, who joined the Wolverines from the San Francisco 49ers, will make it his personal mission to rain on arch-rival OSU’s parade.

For now, though, the Buckeyes should sit back and enjoy the new hardware. It looks like they’re off to a good start.
