Michael Jordan and LeBron James debate ends in an aggravated assault arrest

An argument about Michael Jordan and LeBron James ends in an aggravated assault arrest.
We’ve all been there. You’re sitting on the couch with your pal, tossing back some brews, and all of a sudden that pal of yours starts flapping his gums about how LeBron James is the best basketball player of all time. You disagree and say Michael Jordan is the best player to ever play the game. The two of you dive right in to a very civil debate, exhibiting the highest of gentlemanly demeanor, with each side calmly stating their point and respecting each other’s view points. The next thing you know, you’re standing in your kitchen holding a bloody baseball bat while your buddy lays in a heap on the floor and the police are coming through your front door with their guns drawn.
Talk about a difference of opinion!
This scenario actually played out between two roommates at a Pennsylvania State College. While exact details about the incident are unknown, what is known is that 22 year old Daneil Mondelice and his roommate got into an argument of who was the best basketball player of all time. One roommate was arguing for LeBron James while the other was arguing for Michael Jordan. The argument ended when police arrested Mondelice for aggravated assault. The Daily Collegian reports that Mondelice was also charged with terroristic threats, and simple assault. Mondelice was later charged with criminal trespassing after refusing to leave an acquatainces apartment.
This is a classic case of people taking their sports much too seriously. When people associate their favorite sporting teams or athletes with their own sense of personal pride we get dumb situations like these. Back in 2013, two heavily intoxicated men stabbed three people after an argument over Lebron James and Michael Jordan. When you are pulling weapons on others just to defend a professional athlete then you need to get your priorities straight.
Besides, its not even a contest. Jordan blows James out of the water. LeBron will NEVER be close to even touching Jordan’s legacy! What’s that? You disagree? Well… maybe a little chat with Pippen and Rodman, the names I have given my fists, will make you see reason.
