With the NASCAR Coca-Cola 600 taking place on Memorial Day Weekend, each driver’s car honored a fallen soldier.

With the Coca-Cola 600 taking place on Memorial Day Weekend, it’s important to remember those that have sacrificed and served so that everyone in the United States could have their freedoms.

With NASCAR being an ardent supporter of the troops every year, they are taking their support to a whole new level this year.

Rather than the driver’s name being above the windshield as they usually are every week during the race, the names of fallen soldiers who have paid the ultimate sacrifice will be above each windshield along with their rank.

It’s an awesome and chilling tribute by NASCAR to honor those that have served and the cars look awesome too.

Not only are the troops names on the windshield, Goodyear Tires has made special tires for this week with the phrase “Support Our Troops” on the tire.

Before the race, a tribute was held as Military Taps was played as the giant American flag at Charlotte, stood tall above the track.

While the Coca-Cola 600 will be about who can win the spectacle that is 600 miles, NASCAR understands the true importance of Memorial Day Weekend.
