The Kansas City Royals are having more fun than anyone in baseball right now, fining each other for not using Fetty Wap lyrics in postgame interviews.

During a 162-game regular season, there’s a chance that things may get a little stale in a MLB clubhouse. This means that teams must come up with ways to keep the fun going and that will, in turn, help with team chemistry on the field — most of the time.

Right now, the Kansas City Royals are the hottest team in baseball, besides maybe the St. Louis Cardinals, and yet they still seem to be having fun through all the success.

Sometimes it can be a bit boring when you’re dominating your respective league, but Kansas City is having a heck of a time doing so, even bringing the jubilance to the clubhouse for postgame interviews with the media.

There’s a new rule for Kansas City players: you must cite Fetty Wap’s “1738” lyric in all postgame interviews or you will be fined by teammates — although no word has been released on what the fine may be, but it’s most likely buying dinner for the entire team.

A big difference can be seen between a team that is struggling to stay afloat in the playoff race and one that is basically guaranteed a spot in the postseason. One team has trouble staying positive while the other turns everything into a game. The Royals are in the latter group.

In case you aren’t familiar with the reference, Fetty Wap is a rapper and “1738” is a verse in his recent hit single “Trap Queen.”

So with that, Andy McCullough of The Kansas City Star has some interesting postgame quotes from some of the Royals players who are participating, and winning, the Fetty Wap lyrical war.

The Star reporter later caught on to what the Royals were doing and was completely down for all the Fetty Wap talk.

Everything is more fun when you’re winning. Just ask the Royals.
