There’s really not a doubt in a lot of peoples’ minds that linebacker/running back Dylan Moses is the top recruit in the class of 2017. We’ve all known this before the young phenom even hit high school, and he was picking up some offers from Alabama and LSU when he was just a middle-schooler. For quite some time now, Moses has been verbally committed to join Les Miles and LSU.

Well, that changed on Monday — for now.

On Monday Moses sent out a tweet declaring that he’s pulling back from his commitment to the Tigers. However, he did explain that while he’s pulling back from that commitment, LSU is still his top choice as he re-opens his recruitment.

That was a pretty well thought out explanation by the young man, and LSU fans shouldn’t go into full panic mode just yet. They’re still the front-runners and can ultimately get him back in the future.

This was probably the right move for Moses. When he originally committed to LSU before he did hit high school, most of us thought that might be the wrong move. The recruiting process that a college football player goes through is something that should be enjoyed and this will be a good experience for the top player in the 2017 class.

Now the question is whether or not LSU can do enough to keep his interest.
