This Tennessee fan is definitely never getting lost, that’s for sure

The culture surrounding Tennessee Volunteers football is changing. Third-year head coach Butch Jones has come in and rejuvenated a faltering program that hasn’t won a national title nor a conference title since 1998.

The Volunteers have one of the best fan bases in the nation, however, as the pro-SEC fans of Knoxville, Tenn., show their support for Tennessee every chance they get.

One Tennessee fan in particular, ex-Air Force staff sergeant Josh Gilreath, has taken his love for Volunteers football to an entirely new level. In fact, I don’t think I’ve ever seen a tattoo quite like this one, but this guy loves his team.

Neyland Stadium in Knoxville will always be this man’s home and he will never be lost as the coordinates are on his body for life.

It’s pretty cool to see something like this on Gilreath who has obviously had to use map coordinates like these for his entire career with the Air Force. He translated his love for the Air Force onto his arm along with the love for Tennessee.

As you can sometimes tell, SEC fans are as hardcore as they come. With an up-and-coming program such as Tennessee, though, you will find that these fans will show their crazy side more often than not because they finally have something to cheer for.

The Volunteers have gone through a long rough patch of not winning a conference or national title and the former yearly contender is now back in the national spotlight — and not just because of this fan.

Jones is building something special and although he has just a 12-13 overall record and 5-11 record in SEC play to show for it, he is snagging some of the top recruits in the nation and selling hope to the young players on the team.

The SEC is going to be pretty interesting to watch over the next couple of years as teams like Mississippi State, Tennessee and Missouri have been on the rise while the normal national powerhouses are remaining strong.

Back to the fan tattoo, though. It’s a pretty cool thing to see a former member of our country’s military show his appreciate for the stadium named after the coach who ushered Tennessee into the SEC back in 1933, Robert Neyland.

Tennessee may be my new favorite SEC team.
