Teddy Bridgewater was sacked by the 49ers with the help of one of his own offensive linemen

Teddy Bridgewater has had a rough go of it offensively on Monday Night Football as the Minnesota Vikings take on the San Francisco 49ers. A big part of that is that the Vikings offensive line has been absolutely abysmal both in the running and passing games. They may have outdone themselves on one particular play, though.

Bridgewater dropped back to throw in the second quarter and, as it had been on most plays up to that point, the pocket collapsed and he was under pressure. However, as the second-year quarterback tried to escape the pressure, rookie tackle T.J. Clemmings got directly in Bridgewater’s path and essentially held him up long enough for the Niners to be able to sack him:

Jameis Winston feels your pain, Teddy. He too has linemen that insist on helping out the defense.

Even with departures for various reasons, the 49ers defense still has a ton of talent on it. However, if the Vikings offensive line is going to play like this for the entirety of the 2015 NFL season, it’s going to be a long year for Bridgewater. Even then, hopefully they can get over the whole having his own linemen assist in sacking him thing.
