The Atlanta Falcons and Minnesota Vikings faced off in a contest down in ATL.

Final. 10. 44. 20. 60

Sunday’s contest between the Minnesota Vikings and Atlanta Falcons carried big-time playoff implications. For Atlanta it was essentially a must-win. There’s no way the Dirty Birds are catching the Carolina Panthers in the NFC South, so it was all about holding a leg up in the Wild Card standings. As for the Vikings, the Wild Card was certainly in play, but so was recapturing the NFC North.

Welp, the Vikes grabbed the bull by the horns and took it to the Falcons down south. Adrian Peterson bounced back to form and rushed for 158 yards, and Minnesota scored 10 fourth-quarter points to snatch victory away from their hosts.

As for Atlanta, Matt Ryan continued his uneven play, tossing two interceptions – including one on 3rd and goal. It’s the second game in a row that a Matty Luke Warm pick felled the team. If there’s a bright spot for the Falcons it’s that Tevin Coleman stepped in for Devonta Freeman and rushed for 110 yards. Other than that, well, the Falcons keep spiring downward.

Three stars

Tevin Coleman: 18 CAR, 110 YDS

Adrian Peterson:  29 CAR, 158 YDS, 2 TD
