Denver Nuggets forward Danilo Gallinari drilled a half-court shot at the buzzer at the end of the first quarter.

There’s plenty of early NBA matinee games on tap Sunday, with the Super Bowl claiming the later part of the evening. One of the early contests Sunday featured the Denver Nuggets traveling to take on the New York Knicks at Madison Square Garden.

It was Nuggets forward Danilo Gallinari that was stealing the show at the mecca of sports early on. Gallinari was showing off his shooting touch against the Knicks.

With the clock winding down at the end of the first quarter, Gallinari threw up a shot from half-court and hit nothing but net.

That wasn’t just some half-court heave either. He used great touch and looked comfortable shooting the ridiculous shot from that range. Gallinari came out hot against the team that traded him away long ago and his shooting stroke was on point.

As soon as Gallinari drained the shot at the buzzer, the Nuggets bench hopped up and threw up their arms in jubilation. Knicks forward Lou Amundson could do nothing but headbutt the ball after the shot fell.

It’s one of those shots where one team is going to celebrate wildly and the other is going to shrug.
