A look at the four potential No. 1 seeds for the 2016 NCAA Tournament and March Madness on Selection Sunday

The best time of the year in college basketball has finally arrived as the start of the 2016 NCAA Tournament is now just a few days away and March Madness has the green light to get as mad as ever. Before the insanity can officially commence, though, the seeds have to be determined and the bracket has to be set on Selection Sunday 2016.

Obviously the seeding for all 68 teams that will make the NCAA Tournament will have major implications for March Madness as a whole. The difference between being the No. 7 seed and a No. 8 seed can truly be the difference between possibly making it to the Sweet Sixteen and getting bounced in the first round.

One of the most important seeds, though, that will be determined on Selection Sunday 2016 are the four No. 1 seeds—especially in regards to history. After all, a No. 16 seed has never beaten a No. 1 in the NCAA Tournament in the history of March Madness. Subsequently, earning one of the four No. 1 seeds all but locks a team into the second round, which is a huge advantage for any team.

With the parity in college hoops this season, though, the race for the No. 1 seeds has undoubtedly gone down to the wire and the committee has some tough decisions to make on Selection Sunday 2016. With all of the dust settling, though, these are the four projected No. 1 seeds for the NCAA Tournament.
